LMC Drilling is a South African company operating throughout South Africa. Our operations and services demonstrate commitment to health and safety of our employees and minimizing our impact on the environment in a manner that promotes the wellbeing of our employees, customers and the community we operate in. The company believes that the key to safe operations at our workplace lies in a holistic approach, ensuring long-term sustainability of performance. This is attained through development and empowerment of the workforce with a belief in and genuine desire to perform their responsibilities in such a manner that they remain incident free.
LMC Operates in accordance with the following procedures implemented:
- Assessments of physical conditions that are associated with our job profile
- Immediate response to address any potential or real deviations that may cause
harm.
- Monitor processes to continuously address any deviations
- Identify hazards, assess risk and institute remedial action
- Establish procedures and standards that reduce risk to tolerable levels
- Train employees in the correct use of the procedure
The main goal of the Company is to:
- Comply with all applicable health and safety laws (Mine Health & Safety Act, No. 29 on 1996)
- Integrate health, safety and environment requirements into the decision making process, during our operations
- Provide human, physical and financial resources to achieve our Health and Safety objectives and targets
- Promote the sustainable use of natural resources and the elimination 0f harmful chemicals
- Foster the commitment of all our employees and other stakeholders to this policy through training and awareness

LMC Drilling Partners has a number of safety rules that must be adhered to by all employees and contractors at all times.
GOLDEN RULES FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY
These will be reviewed from time to time, as problems are identified.
The following rules apply:
- Safe work practices shall be adhered to at all times.
- Faulty equipment shall be reported immediately
- PPE shall be appropriately worn on site, at all times.
- It is the responsibility of all employees to assist new employees to work safely
Employees of LMC Drilling who fail to comply with the health and safety requirements of the partnership, or those who demonstrate consistently poor safety performance, shall be subject to disciplinary measures.
Sufficient training, explanation and assistance shall be given to all employees to ensure they fully comprehend what is required of them. However, neither management nor the employees will tolerate unsafe behaviour and non-compliance with the safety policies and procedures of LMC Drilling Partners.
MANAGING NON-COMPLIANCE
The disciplinary procedure for health and safety issues shall follow the same format as the warning system used at LMC Drilling Partners for any other disciplinary matter.
Contractors to LMC Drilling Partners shall be subject to the same disciplinary and warning system. Copies of such actions shall be forwarded to the contractor’s management for their records. Under certain circumstances, a contractor may be refused the right of entry to a site of LMC Drilling Partners, due to non-compliance with its health and safety policies and procedures.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT
LMC Drilling Partners are committed to protecting the health and safety of all employees by a systematic process of risk management. Where better methods are not feasible, this organization is committed to the effective selection, use, care & maintenance of suitable PPE. The Partners shall ensure that all employees have full access to the appropriate PPE needed to safely undertake their work.
All PPE used by employees of LMC Drilling shall comply with the relevant standards.
As a minimum for safety equipment in the workshop, all employees & contractors shall wear glasses. Overalls and safety boots/shoes.
Specific PPE shall be used in certain instances depending on the nature of the task undertaken.
All employees, contractors and visitors shall conform to the requirements of the site safety specifications.
Provision of PPE shall only be made after an assessment of the risk has been conducted, in consultation with employees, and it is agreed that no alternative solutions are available (such as engineering controls) to protect the employees.
Professional advice shall be obtained, where necessary, to identify the most suitable types of PPE required.
Training and information shall be provided to all employees on the fitting, use and maintenance of the PPE.
Senior managers shall be held responsible for the supervision and enforcement of the use of PPE.
The effectiveness of the PPE Program shall be evaluated on a regular basis.
LMC Drilling Partners are committed to providing a safe environment and systems in the work place. Since uncontrolled hazards associated with a drill site, could have serious / fatal consequences for our employees and contractors, this establishment regards the maintenance of and adherence to our safety systems of work for controlling plant risks as a safety-critical element of its overall safety program.

LMC Drilling Partners are committed to ensuring that all plant and equipment is fit for its intended duty.
No plant or equipment shall be operated without the relevant license from the appropriate statutory authority, unless under the supervision of a competent authorized person using a current logbook, or unless an appropriate internal assessment has been made and documented where no statutory licensing is required.
It is the responsibility of all employees and contractors to ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times.
This standard applies to all sites where LMC Drilling Partners are working, regardless of whether the workshop, drills sites or administration.
Housekeeping
To ensure compliance is maintained with housekeeping standards, each area shall set an acceptably high standard, The employees must then ensure compliance is maintained at all times, through utilization of such tools such as checklists to determine the appropriate and agreed standard.
Both management and members of the Health & Safety Committee shall carry out regular housekeeping inspections and audits. Feedback shall be given to employees during toolbox meetings.
In accordance with the stipulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993, LMC Drilling maintains a smoke free workplace. The policy applies equally to all management, employees, contractors and visitors.
Smoking is not permitted in areas, other than designated areas, within the boundaries of a LMC Drilling site.

Failure to comply will lead to disciplinary action being taken.
waste management
LMC Drilling Partners will undertake all efforts to ensure their compliance with environmental policy and obligations under the Act.
All waste shall be disposed of in the most appropriate and environmentally sensitive way, possible. If necessary for compliance, suitably qualified specialist contractors will be engaged for disposal of waste.
Disposal of waste shall follow the waste management hierarchy below:
Training & information shall be provided to employees so that they are aware of waste management procedures and able to carry them out safely.
Adherence to the principles will apply to all areas where LMC Drilling is working, whether that is in their workshop or on site.
